The fun began during the clean up and repair, my brother and I were put up in hotel some 15 minutes away (where I met some interesting and cool people) and I was given the chance to earn some extra hours by helping with the clean up. It's been tough and at times nasty work, a few bumps scrapes and cuts, the kind of work that knocks you out at night and has you cursing like a dock worker during the day. It's been a blast in other ways I'm getting along with some people I'm working with....others I curse the ground they walk on (I'm joking of course).
During this time I've had plans concerning getting a job, and quite a few attempts and applications put out. I've gone to one interview/test which did not go so well but led to a lead to a limo company looking for drivers so I applied. I have not heard anything and I don't blame them. I'm not a limo driver (though it would be an interesting experience), I am freaking artist, when you're carrying a toilet down three flights of stairs and wondering where did my life go wrong but more importantly you are thinking of how to draw a comic (that would hopefully be funny). I would consider that either madness or dedication ( I hope).
In any case I'm still putting in some hours cleaning and doing heavy lifting, coming home and doodling until I pass out (still need to draw that toilet comic besides finish a few things). If anything comes my way I'd be grateful if not damn it I'm still going to try. As a friend of mine told me recently after hearing about my plans and other troubles in life, man makes plans and God laughs. So friggin true.
Lastly fare well to my Auntie Jennie who passed this last Monday, I wish things would went better for you these last few years. You will be deeply missed.
On to some phone cam snaps of my sketches.

Been a minute since I updated this blog. It's been easier to update my tumblr but I still have to make time for here once in a while.
Things have been crazy lately...well crazier than usual. The place where I'm staying got flooded about three weeks or so ago, during that time I stayed at a hotel and have been getting some hours working with the clean up effort and other things. It's been nasty demanding work just like my ol greencard less days.
A few things were lost, a few pieces I had in progress, some art paper/supplies , my scanner and the charger for my laptop. What else can you do but keep on sketching and making steps where you can. In any case, I'm tired and have more cleanup work tomorrow. Times like these really make you think and wonder, mainly just where the hell am I going in this thing called life kind of deal. Who knows. Got a few doodles to do before bed tonight.
